Garage Flooring
Garage floors are subjected to a large variety of daily abuse, everything from harsh chemicals, oil and winter road salts to dropping heavy tools. As tough as a residential garage setting can be it pales in comparison to heavy-duty industrial military type applications. We use the same formula of our proprietary product Dura Kote™ on your floor that we apply in some of the most demanding military flooring applications in the world.
Case Study - Residential Garage
A diamond bladed floor grinder, diamond bladed hand grinders and a pulse bac vacuum system were used to remove the epoxy while keeping dust to an absolute minimum. Careful attention to detail on the grinding was imperative to ensure proper adhesion of the product.
Greenstar Coating’s proprietary product Dura Kote™ multi layered flooring system was chosen for it’s superior adhesion, strength and flexibility. The base coat consisted of a clear 5 mil coating with a heavy 1/16” vinyl chip broadcast. The final coat consisted of a 10 mil clear coat to lock the flooring system in place. The two coatings and paint chip yielded a 15 mil thickness over the entire garage floor.
Greenstar Coatings efficiently restored the customer’s garage floor thereby achieving what the epoxy failed to. This customer will have no hot tire pick-up, no marring of the floor from tires and other items. The paint chip easily hides dirt and debris thereby giving the appearance of a just cleaned floor at all times. The monolithic cove base adds the final touch allowing the garage to be easily hosed out without trapping and retaining water in the hard to reach areas.
